How To Trick Your Brain Into Doing Hard Things – Motivation

The problem of not doing what you set out to do just leaves you depressed and regretting. There is nothing easy in life and life is too short to live it in regrets. It’s not easy taking risks but it’s a road worth taking to make something for yourself. In this article, we are going to look at how to trick your brain into doing hard things.

How do I condition myself to be comfortable taking risks? How do I bypass my mind and realize that delay kills opportunities and can’t get yourself to do what it takes? Ask yourself this question: What is the cost of not taking action?

What is the cost of not taking action?

One of the things that you could do is instead of focusing on what needs to be done, ask yourself what is the cost of inaction? What is it going to cost not doing something? What is it going to cost staying where you are today?

The motivation

If you don’t do something, how much does that cost you? That should give you the motivation that you need to take the risk, the necessary risk to get what you want. When you know the cost of not doing something, it’s time to convince your mind to make a decision. Remember indecision, delaying the decision and taking action or the risk are all decisions. Each decision gives unique results.

Indecision Is the decision

Indecision is the decision. Note that by not doing something you are doing something. You are actually deciding not to make a decision. Indecision is the decision. You’re wasting time, wasting opportunities, wasting your potential and life is short.

Life is too short

People that you know and admire start passing away one after the other. Even people around you, could be your parents, your relatives or people that you, that should remind you how short life is. Truly, we don’t have a lot of years to waste making wrong decisions. Life is so short, and you want to make the most out of it with the little time that you have by not taking that risk.

Taking the risk

You are taking a risk by not taking action. Not taking risks is an action on its own and there’s a price you have to pay. When you understand that, you get motivated. There is no harm and nothing to lose.

Go for it and make some mistakes

What’s the big deal, it’s not going to kill you. It’s not life and death. Take that risk and by the end of it all, it’s not about the things that you did but the things that you didn’t do.

Word of advice

Delay and indecision kills opportunities. Every decision you take delay to make or not to do something is still a decision, take the risk. Remember that the cost of not taking the risk is higher than the cost of taking action.

The biggest wall you have to climb is the one you build in your mind: Never let your mind talk you out of your dreams, trick you into giving up. Never let your mind become the greatest obstacle to success. Get your mind on the right track, the rest will follow – Roy T. Bennett
